In the one hand, for suitable new harvested fresh vegetables, flowers and mushrooms, vacuum cooling is the fastest cooling way of all cooling methods. Normally, it usually takes only 15-30 minutes to reduce the temperature of multi-leafy products from 30 degree centigrade to 2 degree centigrade. Large vacuum coolers can simultaneously cool 12 or 24 pallets or boxes of products. In this way, it reduces the demand for refrigerating room systems.
In addition, vacuum cooling system is also applicable for packed products only if the package is not 100% air-tight, which can also allow air, heat, and vapor go outside of the vacuum chamber.
In the other hand, vacuum cooling is also the most energy efficient cooling method, because almost all electricity can reduce product temperature. There are no lamps, forklifts or workers in the vacuum cooler that can raise the temperature. During operation, the device is sealed, so there will be no leakage problems during cooling.
